Congresswoman Shelley Moore Capito, R-W.Va., announced today that the West Virginia Department of Transportationhas been awarded a $16,000 grant from the Federal Highway Administration.

“This grant will enable West Virginia to install 40 much-needed signs along the Elk River Scenic Byway.  These signs include geographical and historical information so travelers can learn more about our beautiful state, while making navigating the byway easier and safer,” stated Capito. 

Provided through the National Scenic Byways Program, this grant funds projects that manage and protect outstanding scenic, history, culture, natural, recreational, and archaeological qualities along these byways; interpret these qualities for visitors and; and improve visitor facilities.
