Capito Recognized As "Friend Of The Farm Bureau"
9/6/12
Congresswoman Shelley Moore Capito, R-W.Va., today was recognized as a “Friend of the Farm Bureau” for her advocacy on behalf of West Virginia farmers and for her support of Farm Bureau issues.
“I am honored to have been selected as one of a handful of Members of Congress for this award. My district is home to many family farms, and I have worked hard to make sure their interests are well represented in Congress. One of my focuses this year has been to limit unnecessary aerial surveillance of family farms across the country. I am proud that my bill passed the Transportation and Infrastructure Committee in early August. I will continue to work with the Farm Bureau to ensure family farmers have their voices and concerns heard in Washington.”
Members of Congress are nominated by their respective American Farm Bureau Federation and selected by the American Farm Bureau Federation Board of Directors.
